This complete backyard renovation in the Cedar Lake neighborhood of Minneapolis transformed an aging, underutilized outdoor space into a cohesive, functional, and family-friendly retreat.
The homeowner needed a backyard that balanced visual appeal with durability, safety, and low maintenance. The existing concrete patio and walkways had deteriorated over time, with cracking, uneven surfaces, and outdated materials limiting both usability and appearance.
Custom Paver Patio & Walkway Installation
We began the project with full demolition and site preparation, removing all existing hardscape and regrading the area to establish a stable foundation. Proper base construction and drainage management were prioritized to ensure long-term performance in Minnesota’s freeze-thaw climate.
Landscape Reshape & Finishing Details
The new outdoor space features a custom paver patio and walkway system installed using County Materials Grand Discovery pavers in the Allure color blend. To maintain visual continuity, the front stoop was veneered with matching materials, seamlessly connecting the home to the patio.
Landscape beds were reshaped and edged with aluminum restraints, and native plantings were installed to provide low-maintenance structure and seasonal interest. Fresh sod completed the renovation, creating an open lawn area suitable for everyday family use.
