This project took place in the Bryn Mawr neighborhood of Minneapolis, where we transformed a failing asphalt driveway and deteriorating retaining wall into a clean, durable, and long-lasting hardscape system.
The original driveway had experienced decades of settling and cracking and included an outdated mechanic’s access pit near the entrance. In addition to poor drainage and uneven grading, the layout no longer supported the homeowner’s long-term plans for the property.
Our goal was to create a structurally sound, visually refined entryway that would serve as the foundation for future outdoor improvements.
The project included full demolition, installation of a segmented retaining wall system, and construction of a custom ribbon driveway with a cobblestone-style pattern and bluestone bedding for enhanced durability. Proper base preparation and drainage management were integrated to ensure long-term performance in Minnesota’s climate.

The completed driveway now provides clean access, improved drainage, and a strong structural base to support future additions such as a sauna, hot tub terrace, artificial turf systems, and outdoor gathering areas.
